About

I have served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church since 1992. I studied at Florida Southern College, Candler School of Theology, and Reformed Theological Seminary and am passionate about teaching Bible studies, leading small groups, spiritually mentoring men, and pastoral care. I also love writing, which leads to…

This blog is an expression of my avocation. I enjoy writing a great deal and use it as often as possible as part of my ministry. On this blog I will share devotions I have written but will also interact with some of my favorite authors, such as C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and John Bunyan, just to name a few. I’m calling this blog “a journal.” It won’t be a journal in the traditional sense, meaning I won’t be writing daily entries about the day’s events or how I’m feeling on any given day. Instead, many (most?) entries will not be polished writing, but instead, will be “thinking out loud” about what I’ve been reading and learning, and sharing it with you. We’ll see where that leads.

You can check out links to my online ministry, ministry-related writing, books, and other resources below.

Get in touch

If you want to chat about Scripture, theology, books, Christian imagination, poetry, literature, art, culture and worldviews, satire and humor, or anything else, don’t hesitate in reaching out. By the way, I’m not an expert in any of these areas, but I love exploring these topics, learning from others, and having some great discussions.
